Faulkner House
Another Job nearing completion is Bruntwood’s Faulkner House in Manchester. We were called in to give all facades an intensive clean using our state of the art DOFF system as well as applying Remmers FC cream to ensure the building remains immaculate for as long as possible.
Cheshire Fire (Widnes)
We have recently undertaken works for Cheshire Fire, and have completed a full restoration of their training tower in Widnes.
Our scope of work here included concrete repairs, pointing, application of liquid membranes and a deep intensive clean and redecoration of the interior tower. As well as this, our colleagues at Grade 2 Impact blasted all ladders and re painted them to the specification. Anti Slip coatings was applied to the floors to ensure none of the firefighters have an accident while training.
Eric Wright Mersey Tunnels
We have recently started an exciting new job close to home, applying concrete repairs to the Wallasey (Kingsway) Mersey Tunnel and also to the bridges on approaching roads.
Working nights, our operatives are off to a flying start and we’re all excited to see the finished works soon.
ABC Building – External Refurbishment
We have recently completed all works over at the ABC Building, Manchester City Centre.
Our scope of works included concrete repairs, render repairs, window sealants, façade re-decoration, window re-decoration and liquid membrane roofing.
All works were carried out as per Remmers specification provided and the client was delighted with the scheme.
Grade 2 Impact – Relocated Blasting Facility

Grade 2 Impact has now relocated to Unit 1, Britannia House, Dock Road, Birkenhead, Wirral, CH41 1DF
We have a fully established workshop on The Wirral, where transportable handleable items can be brought to blast clean and apply all types of protective coatings in full ideal workshop conditions, this can include items such as fabrications in mild steel, stainless and exotic alloys, pump casings, bowls, impellers, water boxes, heat exchangers, pipes and spools, then returned to site for re-installation by your engineers.

Wakefield House
The team is making great progress at Wakefield House in Manchester City Centre.
Our scope of works includes DOFF Cleaning, masonry repairs, concrete repairs and protective coatings, re-rendering to the rear elevation, window sealants and re-decoration, liquid membrane roofing and structural modifications internally to the property.
Lancashire Social Housing
We are now on the last phase of our concrete repairs and protection scheme to 4no social housing blocks in Lancashire.
Our scope of works included concrete repairs, protective coatings and balcony coatings as per Sika specification.

Grade 2 has recently completed the rake out and reinstatement of sealants, application of protective coatings and a guaranteed liquid roofing project as part of the redevelopment of Banks House which has since been renamed the ‘Neo’.
Neo will be one of Manchester’s most evolved workspaces and offers collaborative workspaces with panoramic views across the city.
Under a tight schedule to ensure that the car park was open for the Christmas markets Grade 2 completed structural repairs and a full redecoration scheme in less than 8 weeks at St Georges Shopping Centre in Preston.

Grade 2 has recently completed a full external refurbishment of Exchange Court, Liverpool.
The scope of works included:
- DOFF cleaning to all the stonework on each elevation
- stone repairs using specialist stone repair mortars supplied by Remmers
- Protective stonework coatings provided by Remmers to preserve the life of the stonework
- Sash window repairs and redecoration using Repair Care specialist treatments
- Slate tile repairs and replacements
- Guaranteed Liquid membrane coatings to flat roofs, walkways and gutters using Sikalastic 625 supplied by Sika Liquid Plastics
- Redecoration of all iron works and render panels
- Replacement of roof lights and Velux windows
- Remedial works to chimneys, gutters and rainwater goods

This year’s Christmas Party was held at the Horse and Jockey in Upton for all the team at Grade 2. The annual event featured a buffet, free bar and a competitive game of killer pool, where Grade 2’s site supervisor Irvine Saunders went on to win the prize! The event was great fun for all involved and was a nice ending to the working year for well-deserved break.
The Grade 2 Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing division headed up by regional manager Steve Parry has got off to a flying start! At the end of the first 12 months Grade 2 has become a Sika Liquid Plastics QA Approved Contractor. In addition to this we are now an approved installer for Triflex to carry out a range of roofing, balcony and car park deck projects.
